What You’ll Do

• Provide post-anesthesia care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments upon patient admission and discharge
• Manage IV therapies and educate patients on post-procedure care
• Assist with patient admission, discharge, and recovery within a 8-bay unit
• Support the surgical team by stepping into the OR as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and fellow nurses to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR software

What You Need
Required:

• Valid RN license in Vermont or eligible for licensure in VT
• Strong assessment, IV, and patient education skills
• Ability to multitask effectively and communicate clearly with healthcare teams

Preferred:

• Previous PACU or ICU experience
• Experience working in outpatient or same-day surgery settings

About the Assignment
Join a busy Same Day Surgery Center offering outpatient procedures primarily for patients aged 16 and older. The department includes two operating rooms and a procedure room, providing care mostly to adult and geriatric populations. The role requires flexibility to work scheduled call hours, including holiday coverage, with a focus on providing exceptional post-anesthesia care in a supportive environment.

Note: No travel requests for combination work or multiple assignments, and RTO requests are limited to fewer than 5 days, with specific holiday coverage requirements.
