McLaren Northern has incorporated a strict 3 strike attendance policy to advocate for their patient population. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift 3 times will be terminated effective immediately. Situations such as a communicable disease or hospitalization with supporting evidence will be reviewed in favor of the contractor. This policy will begin on 6/1/2024.
Rehabilitation Services within the Inpatient setting is provided by professionals who possess a depth and breadth of knowledge for patients who are acutely ill across the life span and multiple body systems. We use our clinical reasoning skills to evaluate patients with unstable medical conditions, consider surgical interventions, collaborate and communicate with other health care professionals and use an evidence-based approach for customizing treatment. Our evaluation results are critical in helping to create an optimal plan of care and identifying discharge considerations.
Uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assesses, monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promotes the optimal level of health. Accountable for integrating care within the scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience. Reports to shift Team Leader and are accountable to the Department Manager. Utilizes Policies and Procedures to guide job duties. Level specific criteria are evaluated annually and can be found in the MNM Clinical Ladder.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Clinical Expertise: Collaborates with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based upon a physiological, psychosocial, spiritual assessment consistent with patient/significant other s changing needs & goals, utilizing the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the Caring-Quality Model.
- Knowledge: Seeks life-long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review.
- Leadership/Credibility: Demonstrates leadership through sharing of knowledge, being a clinical resource, and professional role model.
- Communication: Demonstrates effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication.
- Productivity: Demonstrates enhanced time management skills and ability to assist others in order to contribute to the overall performance of the team.
- Performs other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.
