Join Our Team as a Temp Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) in Long Term Care – Lewistown, MO!

We are seeking dedicated Speech and Language Pathologists to provide high-quality care in a supportive long-term care setting. What You’ll Do:
  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards.
  • Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and evaluate outcomes to ensure optimal care.
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers regarding speech and swallowing issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries, document all clinical activities in electronic health records, and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Participate in care conferences, review meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions to stay current with best practices.
  • Manage DME and medical supplies as needed, and support supervision of CFY or student SLPs in the facility.

Required Skills:
  • Valid ASHA Certification and State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Strong assessment and clinical intervention skills for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to document clinical activities accurately and thoroughly
  • Knowledge of regulatory and clinical practice standards

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with long-term care or geriatrics
  • Familiarity with electronic health records systems
  • Bilingual capabilities or experience working with diverse populations

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Prior experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred
  • Supervision experience with CFYs or students is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to start by May 4, 2026
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and meetings
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the facility as needed (if applicable)
