## Title: CodeTemp - Summer Camp Instructor - Music Programs

JOB SUMMARY

Serves as a Summer Music Camp at NorthBay Counselor by assisting the Camp in supervising and leading activities during a five day summer camp experience at NorthBay Adventure Camp. Counselors will also serve as section leaders and assistants during rehearsals with their assigned ensemble.

Teachers - must have experience as a classroom teacher or as a junior instructor formerly called junior counselor at AACPS Music Camp and be at least 21 years or older.

Teaching Assistants - must have experience as a camp instructor or camp instructor in training and must be 18 years or older would work with the upper elementary to high school age campers.

## ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists and works directly with the Summer Camp Director Assistant Director in planning and leading activities for the campers.
• Supervises campers throughout the day and night if applicable.
• Organizes the set up and break down of necessary equipment and materials needed for instructional programs and activities.
• Assists in developing instructional materials and activities for use in the outdoor education program.
• Directs and oversees dining hall meal procedures to assure proper meal atmosphere and behavior.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education

• Other Completed of 9th grade at the time of camp required.

Experience

• Experience in working with children in a group setting

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

• Ability to work as a team member with other counselors and adult staff members.
• Responsible, friendly, enthusiastic, patient and willing to learn.
• Participation in counselor training

Licenses and Certifications

• Employee must retain active licenses, certifications and enrollment as a condition of employment.
