JOB SUMMARY
Supports instruction of students by developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials and presenting them using instructional techniques, which meet the needs of all students. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of students

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with classroom teacher to plan and prepare lessons, assignments, and instructional materials.
- Collaborates with classroom, teacher to establish learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, curriculum framework, and knowledge of human growth and development.
- Selects and uses appropriate instructional strategies including, but not limited to, lectures, group discussions, demonstrations, modeling and multi-media teaching aids to present subject matter to students.
- Collaborates with classroom teacher to evaluate student progress using appropriate assessment techniques.
- Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
- Participates in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary.
- May serve on special committees.
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, textbooks, materials and facilities.
- Attends and actively participates in collaborative planning sessions with teachers and provides input regarding the planning of instructional goals, objectives and methods.
- Improves skill and knowledge base in current trends, research and methodology in instructional techniques, technology, multicultural content, problem solving and interdisciplinary connections.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
- Associate''s Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience
- Three (3) years administrative experience with proven knowledge and application within the related field required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Desire to work within the educational sector.
- Desire to work with children.
- Excellent communication - written and oral communication - in both English and the target World Language.
- Good organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Language Requirements
- Bilingual/Biliterate in the target language: French, Italian, Mandarin, Spanish native or near native preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
