Temporary Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk

Location: Alexandria, LA

Pay: $18/hr DOE

Schedule: Full-time

Duration: ~2+ months

A company in Alexandria is seeking a Temporary AP Clerk to support daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high-volume inbox.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and reply to the AP inbox daily
  • Forward emails to the correct staff members
  • Log, save, and organize all incoming AP invoices
  • Assist with AP processing, including:
    • General ledger coding
    • Understanding cash flow and early-pay discounts
    • Learning purchasing needs and operational expenses
    • Applying the 3-Way Match (PO, Receipt, Invoice)
    • Meeting daily deadlines
    • Interacting with purchasing, receiving, vendors, HR, and plant supervisors

Qualifications

  • Clerical or accounting support experience preferred
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a busy inbox and learn new systems
  • Reliable and able to commit to the full assignment
