JOB SUMMARY

The Temporary Assistant Buyer supports the execution and day-to-day management of merchandising initiatives across in-club retail locations and ecommerce. This role is responsible for supporting assortment management, promotional execution, vendor coordination, and cross-functional communication to ensure business continuity and achievement of retail sales objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute established merchandise assortment plans across retail locations and ecommerce channels.

• Maintain assortment files, product lists, item setup documentation, and product lifecycle updates.

• Create and distribute product and assortment information to internal stakeholders and field teams.

• Partner with Planning and Allocations to support forecasting and inventory planning activities.

• Monitor product performance and sales trends and provide supporting analysis and recommendations.

• Conduct competitive shopping and market research to identify product, pricing, and industry trends.

• Maintain retail planograms across club formats.

• Participate in club visits to evaluate merchandising effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Coordinate promotional execution, including system setup, data entry, and tracking.

• Maintain promotional calendars and ensure promotional details are accurate and current.

• Communicate promotional plans and updates with cross-functional partners.

• Review promotional signage and marketing materials for accuracy and brand standards.

• Partner with Legal to support compliance reviews of promotional materials.

• Support vendor onboarding, vendor setup, SKU setup, and ongoing vendor management activities.

• Support special projects and other merchandising initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 1-3 years of experience in retail merchandising, buying, category management, or related experience.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience supporting multi-location retail operations.

• Bachelor''s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

• Occasional lifting and occasional travel to club locations.

Travel Requirement:

• Up to 10% domestic travel.

Compensation Summary

All Employees: Free Club Membership, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Basic Group Live and AD&D Insurance ($10,000), and 401k Savings and Investment Plan.

Average of 30 hours or more per week: Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above).

Washington State : Receive 40 hours of sick time on your first day of employment. After 6 months of employment, accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours, inclusive of time carried over.
