The Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board (FRWDB) is a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, with a business led model to help local organizations meet their workforce needs.
We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Temporary Case Worker to support participants across workforce development programs, including youth, young adult, and English Language Learner / Integrated Education & Training (ELL / IET) initiatives. This position provides culturally responsive case management, participant support, and career guidance to help individuals successfully complete training and transition into employment.
Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct outreach, orientation, intake, eligibility determination, and enrollment activities.
- Provide one-on-one case management, mentoring, and participant support throughout program participation.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify barriers to employment, career interests, and educational and supportive service needs.
- Develop and monitor Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) with education, training, and employment goals.
- Coordinate supportive services including transportation, childcare, uniform, and referrals to resources.
- Maintain accurate participant records and CalJOBS documentation to ensure compliance with WIOA, grant requirements, and program deliverables.
- Conduct regular participant follow-up to monitor engagement, attendance, measurable skill gains, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
- Collaborate with training providers, educational partners, employers, and internal staff to support participant success and job placement activities.
- Assist with performance tracking, reporting, audits, monitoring, and other administrative duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications:
- 2+ years of related work experience in employment and training programs.
- Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or another closely related field preferred.
- Fluent speaking and writing in English required, multilingual abilities in either Spanish or Hmong preferred.
- Valid California driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and source of reliable transportation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CalJOBS data entry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including English Language Learners.
- Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including grammar, spelling, and punctuation: ability to accurately proofread and edit a variety of documents.
- Knowledge of WIOA and workforce development programs strongly preferred
This full-time, temporary position is expected to continue through December 31, 2026, with a competitive salary in the range of$25.16 - $28.21 / hour DOE.
