Duties include basic service tasks such as lubrication, oil changes, and general upkeep of fleet vehicles and small equipment. Individuals will be exposed to shop environments, automotive fluids, and outdoor conditions.Job RequirementsThe following are required:Must be 18 years of age or older.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation, and over 50 pounds with assistance.Ability to work in a shop and outdoor environment with exposure to vehicle fluids, fumes, and varying weather conditions.The following are preferred:Basic knowledge of vehicle or equipment maintenance.Familiarity with oil changes, lubrication procedures, or use of basic hand tools.One year of work/school experience in a vehicle maintenance environment.Essential Job FunctionsPerforms routine preventative maintenance tasks including oil changes, lubrication, and fluid checks on vehicles and equipment.Assists with inspection and basic service of fleet vehicles and small engine equipment.Maintains cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and work areas.Operates basic hand and shop tools in accordance with safety procedures.Works within established safety guidelines and follows proper handling procedures for tools and materials.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.Physical /Mental DemandsThe physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs. Additionally, the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, be able to readily recall facts and details, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
