- Valid Washington State driver's license if driving a vehicle for County business.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs advanced general and legal administrative support work to assist the Prosecuting Attorney's Office by independently gathering and maintaining files and maintaining communication to other parties for efficient handling of cases; and provides courteous and efficient customer service to the public.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are essential for this position. However, they are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may also be required or assigned.
ALL POSITIONS
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers; greets, receives and screens visitors and customers; receives calls on a multi-line phone system and routes calls to appropriate individual or takes messages when necessary.
- Addresses and resolves customer questions/concerns as able and refers complex inquiries, requests, or complaints to appropriate staff.
- Establishes, maintains and updates detailed files, records, dockets, and logs on computerized and manual recordkeeping systems; verifies data, then enters and edits reports or information; searches files and records for readily identifiable information as directed; monitors inactive files, updates records and destroys as authorized.
- Assists attorneys in drafting legal documents, pleadings, subpoenas and other legal correspondence.
- Opens and drafts documents associated with cases referred from local and state agencies to the Prosecutor's Office, such as criminal, child support, abatements, or code enforcement cases, as assigned.
- Responds to public records requests.
- Types and distributes legal documents, forms, briefs, correspondence, reports, memoranda, dispositions, statistics and schedules from hand written drafts or notes, verbal or standing instructions by using computers, calculators, photocopier, scanner, Microsoft Office, and other standard office equipment.
- Composes general correspondence and prepares regularly recurring reports; types and distributes standardizes forms; proofreads and edits documents.
- Attends courts as necessary to assist deputy and/or provide support to victims/witnesses.
- Provides liaison function between the department/program and defendants, clients, court, law enforcements agencies, community agencies, schools, and the general public, coordinating schedules, providing and obtaining information, and assisting them in completing necessary reports.
- Schedules and maintains calendar for hearings, trials, interviews, blood draws, testing, meetings, and appointments.
- Enters, scans, indexes, updates, and maintains information in spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
- Maintains electronic filing, paper filing, and record systems to provide easy access to records and information; provides retention of records as required by Office and County policies.
- Organizes and maintains resource information in a variety of formats.
- Assists other department personnel during peak period of work or for absences.
- May instruct or train department staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
CHILD SUPPORT DIVISION
- Follows procedures for Child Support issues, including additional research and filings, conducting interviews and genetic testing, follow-up filings and communications as assigned.
- Understands and follows the Washington State Child Support Schedule and Economic Table in drafting child support orders and judgments.
- Maintains confidentiality safeguards and follows IRS and HIPAA requirements in Child Support matters.
- Provides a liaison function between the Prosecutor's Office, the Washington State Division of Child Support, and other persons and entities, coordinating schedules, providing and obtaining information, and assisting them in completing reports.
- Follows procedures for issues regarding parentage, including additional research and filings, interviews, genetic testing and blood draws, financial calculations, follow up filings and communications as assigned.
