Temporary Help Non-Exempt - Sociology and Political Science

Description of Job Duty:

The Tennessee Tech Center for Addiction Prevention and Support (CAPS) is looking for a compassionate and skilled therapist to join their team. This temporary role will involve providing essential outpatient services to adults facing mental health and substance use challenges. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a community-based clinic and support the training of graduate social work students. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing barriers to accessing care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited program.
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Tennessee or eligibility for licensure.
• Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based interventions.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Preferred: Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Tennessee.
• Experience in outpatient behavioral health or community mental health settings.
• Familiarity with telehealth service delivery.
• Experience working with social work students or trainees.
• Knowledge of ethical standards and regulations, including HIPAA.

Essential Functions:

• Provide individual psychotherapy to adults with mental health concerns and substance use disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Offer crisis intervention and safety planning when needed.
• Coordinate care with community providers and medical professionals.
• Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing and implementing clinic policies and evidence-based practices.
• Support the educational mission by collaborating with and supervising social work students.
• Engage in outreach and community activities to promote CAPS'' mission.
