IMKO is currently seeking a hardworking and reliable Temporary Houseman to support the housekeeping team of a hotel/event center located in Columbia, MO. You will be the " backbone" of the department, ensuring that room attendants have the supplies they need and that all public areas— lobbies, hallways, and elevators— remain pristine and welcoming for guests.
Shift: 9 am to 5 pm, days vary, assignment expected to last 1 to 2 weeks
Key Responsibilities- Supply Distribution: Stock linen closets and deliver requested items (pillows, towels, cribs) to guest rooms promptly.
- Floor Maintenance: Vacuum hallways, mop hard surfaces, and ensure all carpeted areas are free of debris.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from housekeeping carts and public areas.
- Heavy Lifting: Assist with moving furniture, flipping mattresses, or transporting heavy laundry bins.
- Public Area Upkeep: Sanitize high-touch surfaces (elevators, door handles) and maintain the cleanliness of public restrooms.
- Guest Service: Greet guests warmly and provide basic assistance or directions when needed.
Qualifications- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Efficiency: Capable of managing a " to-do" list in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Reliability: Strict adherence to shift timings and a professional appearance.
- Communication: Basic English proficiency to interact with guests and understand safety instructions.
- Experience: Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial work is a plus, but not required.
