Job Title: Legal Assistant (Temporary - 6 Months)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and legal support within an in-house legal department. This role supports a team of attorneys and legal professionals and requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a temporary assignment for approximately six (6) months, with the possibility of extension or earlier conclusion based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, format, and file legal documents in both electronic and traditional formats
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and track critical deadlines
- Assist attorneys and legal staff with trial preparation and case management
- Maintain and organize legal records in compliance with applicable records retention requirements
- Coordinate correspondence and handle confidential information with discretion
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the legal team as needed
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a highly responsible legal administrative support role
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with standard office and legal document management software
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and discretion
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in business administration, legal office administration, or a related field preferred
- 6+ years of experience providing administrative and technical support within a legal office environment
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, with some flexibility as needed
