ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside Registrar of Voters is seeking an Outreach Program Staff to support high-impact initiatives that expand civic engagement and voter awareness across diverse communities. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in public service, community outreach, and the administration of elections.

In this role, you will contribute to meaningful programs that inform and empower voters while building practical skills in communications, content creation, video/content production, and event coordination.

We are recruiting for several positions including, but not limited to, bilingual candidates with strong reading, writing, proofing, and speaking abilities in English and:

  • Korean

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and execute community outreach campaigns, events, and public engagement efforts
  • Coordinate event logistics, including planning, setup, and on-site support
  • Communicate accurate voting information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
  • Create digital content, including videos, presentations, and social media materials
  • Contribute to multimedia projects using video/content production and technical skills in Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Track and analyze outreach data to support program effectiveness
  • Manage multiple assignments independently while collaborating with team members

Additional Duties (may vary by assignment)

  • Assist with day-to-day work alongside professional staff
  • Participate in research, surveys, and data collection efforts
  • Compile and analyze data; assist in preparing reports and evaluations
  • Contribute to briefs, plans, and program documentation
  • Attend staff meetings and provide observations and summaries
  • Perform sub-professional assignments in support of departmental operations
  • Additional duties as assigned

As part of the Registrar of Voters outreach team, you can expect to gain a wide range of valuable experiences and skills, including:

  • Hands-on experience in public sector operations and election administration
  • Development of in-demand digital media and communication skills
  • Exposure to event coordination and project management
  • Real-world experience supporting civic participation and voter outreach

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with digital and multimedia tools, including Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Microsoft PowerPoint (training or portfolio work welcome)
  • Strong ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-focused content
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for outreach activities

Knowledge of:

  • Goals and functions of the assigned program area
  • Standard computer and software applications

Ability to:

  • Learn quickly through hands-on training
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Analyze information and prepare basic reports
  • Manage tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

The schedule for this position is full-time: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, including weekends, and holidays with mandatory overtime.

Pre-Employment

BENEFIT PROGRAM: TMP

Temporary employees participate in the 401(a) Temporary and Part-Time Employees Retirement Plan and are required to contribute 3.75% of salary to the pension plan.
