Description

Performs processes related to City parking and responds to customer questions and concerns for neighborhood residential parking permit program, downtown parking and all city owned garage parking facilities.

Duties

Primary

Processes neighborhood residential permits, citations, refunds, returns and exchanges, and requests for any reserved parking spaces for the neighborhood in the T2 database management system.

Activates and deactivates garage access cards, may process refunds, returns, exchanges. Monthly runs the license plates of monthly parkers for outstanding citations and bill accordingly.

Reviews, maintains, and posts the revenues for monthly and commuter parkers into garage accounting software. Post garage revenues into New World.

Will be required to daily maintain both online permit requesting systems (T2 and iParc), run reports, input data, update records, and reconcile deposits for all garage facilities in iParc and T2.

Maintains internal garage parking database by performing monthly audits of active parkers; assures active parkers are billed accurately; responsible for deactivation of unpaid accounts and collection of outstanding invoices.

Processes collection agency payments in T2 and iParc.

Maintains and balances cash drawers for daily deposits for T2 and iParc; balances and audits garage pay stations (6).

Assists garage operations manager, enforcement supervisor and director with empty space counts, special events reporting, prepaid garage parking sales, garage daily operational reports, and monthly reports for Parking Commission including all types permits sales and transient activity.

Responds to routine and complex phone calls and emails regarding parking concerns for residential, downtown, contractors and garage parking questions. Assist with sorting and distributing mail and research of returned mail.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements

Minimum knowledge equivalent to a high school diploma.

Minimum one year of customer service experience or equivalent.

Knowledge of the standard practices of cash handling and bookkeeping.

Incumbent performs duties in a public-facing office with no unusual physical demands. Requires the ability to switch in between tasks and to meet frequent deadlines. Work is performed following a routine work schedule where there is little to no overtime opportunity.

Personal Work Relationships

Incumbent maintains daily contact with other department supervisors, staff in the Parking Service office, Public Works office, landlords, tenants, realtors, and members of the general public, other governmental and public service agencies and the business community both by telephone, email, and in person. Incumbent maintains continuous contact with all parking enforcement and garage staff to ensure clear communication and understanding of parking regulations.
