Faculty Posting Details Position InformationRequisition Number: F02711 Department: English and World Languages Working Title: Temporary Part-Time English & World Languages Instructor Unsolicited Classification: Instructor - 24900 Position Summary InformationNature of position: Temporary part-time Job Summary Basic Function: The Department of English and World Languages is in need of temporary part-time instructors to teach major courses and courses within our General Education program. Temporary part-time instructors are also at times needed to fill in for faculty on sabbaticals or leaves. In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment. The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as-needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. In the event that you are interviewed but not hired, your application will remain in the departments pool of qualified faculty. Temporary part-time instructors are responsible for teaching writing courses such as: Introduction to College Writing Advanced Composition Business Writing Technical Writing Science Writing Web Writing & Content Development We also have a need for temporary part-time instructors to teach courses in literature, film studies, and English Education. Up to three courses per semester are possible, with potential for summer teaching as needed. Teaching will be done in both traditional and online learning environments.
