Job Summary

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.

The Communication Studies Department at Kutztown University invites applications for a temporary, part-time faculty position for Fall 2026. The primary assignment consists of two sections of COMM 215 (Small Group Communication), an undergraduate course that introduces students to the theory and practice of communication within small group and team contexts. All instruction is in-person and on-campus; the department is committed to working collaboratively with the successful candidate to arrange a schedule that accommodates reasonable commuting needs. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly/professional growth; and service.

Minimum Qualifications

A Masters degree in Communication Studies or a closely related field is required. A minimum of one (1) year of college-level teaching experience completed by August 2026, with specific evidence of ability to teach small group communication, is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. and prior college-level teaching experience in small group communication and/or related undergraduate Communication Studies courses is preferred. Experience working effectively with diverse student populations is also preferred.
