Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and well-organized Part-Time Food Services team member to join the Callier Child Development Program. This role is essential in supporting daily meal preparation and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. Key responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of nutritious meals and snacks, upholding high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, and ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations. This temporary, non-benefits-eligible position is scheduled for 19.5 hours per week.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

Preferred Qualifications • 1-5 years of experience in food service, preferably in a childcare or school setting • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain • Experience with point-of-sale systems and basic computer data entry skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records • Flexibility and willingness to cross-train in all areas of food service operations • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service with a positive and respectful attitude

Other Qualifications

To the extent this position requires the holder to research work on or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.0012 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities • Assist in preparing and serving meals/snacks for children • Follow dietary guidelines and allergy restrictions • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, dishes, and utensils • Ensure proper food storage and labeling • Assist with inventory and supply management • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor designee or Director

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Physical Demands • The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 40 pounds, stoop, squat, bend, push, pull, hold, reach, twist, and stretch • Move quickly in a fast-paced environment • Multi-task and manage competing priorities • Interact effectively with children, colleagues, and parents • Demonstrate patience, emotional stability, and a positive attitude • Maintain consistent mental alertness and agility throughout the workday

Environmental Conditions • Employees in this role may be exposed to cleaning chemicals and sanitation products • Various smells and occasional contact with bodily fluids • Illnesses or contagious diseases • Hot and cold temperatures, outdoor conditions, and UV sun exposure • Noise, crying, and busy classroom environments • Messy supplies, active children, and fluorescent lighting
