Position Summary Information Nature of position: Temporary part-time Posting Detail Information Job Summary Basic Function: The department of Accounting & Finance is accepting applications for a Temporary Part-Time Faculty Member to teach undergraduate courses in international business as well as general business topics, conducting in-person lectures, creating assessments, and fostering inclusive learning environments. Requirements include an MBA, MS in a relevant field, or J.D., and prior business experience. Previous teaching experience is preferred, and strong communication skills are essential. Additionally, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to academic and professional student development. Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching and Professional Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities in at least one of the following areas, depending on program need:
  • Introduction to Business
  • International Business
  • Business Law
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Part-time faculty members shall maintain a prorated number of office hours each week at a minimum of twenty-five (25) minutes for each workload hour taught at such days, times, and locations as will accommodate the needs of the students.
  • This position requires in-person instruction on Millersville Universitys campus. This position is contingent upon sufficient enrollments in assigned classes. For details, please see The CBA Article 12.B.1, Effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities, p. 27.

Continuing Scholarly Growth and Professional Development and Service to the University and/or Community

  • In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Department Description

The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Lombardo College of Business is comprised of five full-time faculty members. The college has approximately 770 undergraduate students and offers BS degrees in accounting, finance, information technology, marketing, management, and business administration. The Lombardo College of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Required Qualifications

  • A Masters Degree in a business discipline or a JD.
  • Relevant business experience.
  • Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
  • Successful interview.
  • Successful teaching demonstration for class teaching assignments.
  • Successful completion of three background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or ABD in a business discipline.
  • A relevant professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFP, CFA, FRM, etc.) and business experience.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
