Position Summary

Piano Accompanist

The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance

Temporary, Part-Time (approximately 444 hours per semester)

Up to a 10-month assignment (August-May) with potential for annual renewal

Compensation: $35 per hour (with an estimated 444 hours each semester)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as piano accompanist in the areas of Class Voice for Musical Theatre and Musical Theatre Performance as assigned
  • Serve as piano accompanist dance classes as assigned
  • Provide piano accompaniment for mainstage musical rehearsals, as well as assigned conservatory showcases, auditions, BFA reviews, and special presentations
  • Play in pit orchestras as assigned, with the possibility of conducting mainstage musical performances

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience as a professional pianist/accompanist
  • Advanced skills in piano sight reading with ability to play Broadway repertory
  • Ability to play in pit orchestras
  • Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours, including nights and weekends
