Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide safe, dependable, and customer-focused transportation services for students, faculty, staff, and visitors through the operation of university-owned shuttle buses, vans, and other assigned vehicles. The Shuttle Driver/Vehicle Equipment Operator is responsible for transporting passengers to designated destinations, adhering to established routes and schedules, conducting routine vehicle safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with all applicable traffic laws and university policies. Through professional, courteous, and service-oriented interactions, this position contributes to a positive campus experience while supporting the efficiency, accessibility, and overall success of the University's transportation operations. Primary Function of Organizational Unit

NC A&T's Parking & Transportation Services is dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and accessible campus transportation solutions that support the University's mission and enhance the campus experience for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests. The department manages parking and transportation resources to ensure convenient campus access while promoting a welcoming, orderly, and secure environment.

Through the consistent enforcement of parking rules and regulations, Parking & Transportation Services helps maintain the safe and effective use of university facilities and infrastructure. As a customer-focused organization, the department is committed to delivering responsive, professional, and service-oriented support, striving to provide exceptional service and positive experiences for all members of the campus community.

Work Hours Operation Hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. until 2:00 A.M. Services are also provided on weekends, and special events. Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies.
