The employee will support stable isotope analyses for trophic ecology studies. Duties will include organizing and tracking samples; preparing samples for bulk tissue and amino acid-specific stable isotope analysis; performing acid hydrolysis and amino acid derivatization; preparing standards, reagents, and analytical sequences; operating EA-IRMS and GC-C-IRMS instrumentation under supervision; conducting routine laboratory organization and consumables management; and assisting with data reduction, quality assurance/quality control, documentation, and compilation of analytical results.

Job duration: 8/1/2026 - 12/31/2026

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS in Biology, Chemistry, Marine Biology, or a related field.
  • Previous laboratory experience is required.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Experience with stable isotope analysis, mass spectrometry, amino acid derivatization, and stable isotope data processing is preferred.
