About the Job

Summary:

The candidate will perform in vitro reactions on the HUH-CRISPR project to support Cal Thoma.

Essential Functions:

The candidate will optimize rolling circle amplification 20%

The candidate will test different homology arm lengths. 20%

The candidate will do in vitro cutting assays of Cas9 fusion proteins. 20%

The candidate will learn to maintain fluorescent reporter line 15%

The candidate will keep lab notebook, present in lab meeting, do relevant reading 25%

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent,

Preferred Qualifications:

Pursuing degree in bioengineering

About the Department

The department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics is committed to understanding the molecular mechanisms of metabolic diseases and cancer; developing novel strategies in biocatalysis and biotechnology; and advancing knowledge through structural biology and molecular biophysics. We organize ourselves into research divisions with emphasis on Chemical and Structural Biology, Metabolic and Systems Biology, Molecular Biology and Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology. We are housed in new buildings with state-of-the-art research and support facilities.

Pay and Benefits

Pay: $15.25
