Description of Job: Primary responsibility is to support the State Invasive Species Program through watercraft inspection & decontamination at locations throughout Northwest Colorado, as needed. Work will either be completed independently or in pairs to inspect boats launching and leaving the reservoir, with respect to invasive species such as zebra/quagga mussels. Provide public outreach on the aquatic invasive species topic by providing printed material to those visiting the reservoir. The position will report directly to the James M. Robb Corn Lake Office for assignment. Boat inspection training will be provided. When assistance at field watercraft inspection and decontamination sites is not needed, the position will support the Western Slope Invasive Species Specialist by performing a variety of tasks including:
• Public outreach • Sampling and monitoring • Quality control assessment • Inventory management • Distribution of supplies (including trailered boats/power washer units) to field locations • Data entry
This position requires regular overnight travel and distance driving. Early morning, evening, and weekend work required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences or higher education.
