    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

Vanguard University Human Resources invites qualified individuals to join its Temporary Talent Pool — a placement program that connects candidates with temporary and short-term assignments across the University's departments and offices. Members of the pool are referred to hiring departments as opportunities arise, based on their qualifications, availability, and departmental needs.

Temporary assignments provide administrative, operational, and project-based support during employee absences, extended leaves, special projects, seasonal peaks, and other periods of increased staffing need. The program is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work, exploring a career at Vanguard, or building professional experience across a variety of settings while becoming familiar with the University's people, culture, and mission.

How the process works: Qualified applicants are screened by Human Resources and, if approved, accepted into the Temporary Talent Pool. When a department submits a staffing request, HR matches it against the temporary talent pool and refers candidates whose skills and availability fit the assignment. Assignments vary in length and hours per week depending on University needs. Acceptance into the Temporary Talent Pool does not guarantee placement in an assignment.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience providing administrative, customer service, or other professional support in an office or customer-facing environment.
    • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
    • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Support and acknowledgement of the Christian mission of the University.

This is a temporary, non-exempt position with varying hours per week dependent on University needs.
