Temporary Teacher at Maconaquah Middle School

Approximate Assignment Period: August 26, 2026-October 2026 (8 Weeks)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Teaching license/experience preferred
• Must be proficient in oral and written communications
• Must be able to work collaboratively with staff
• Subbing experience with students preferred
• College degree/credit preferred

Instruction:

• Implement lesson plans and adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with support staff (e.g., special education teachers)to ensure the success of all students.

Classroom Management:

• Maintain a positive, structured, organized, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement and consistently enforce school and classroom rules and procedures.
• Address student behavior issues effectively and in accordance with school policy.

Curriculum and Assessment:

Become familiar with the curriculum and learning objectives.

• Administer and interpret assessments to monitor student understanding and inform instruction.
• Provide input and feedback on curriculum and instructional practices as appropriate.

Other Duties:

• Supervise students during non-instructional time, such as recess and transitions.
• Participate in school-wide events and activities as needed.
