Tent Installer - Driver

Classic Party Rentals of Virginia is hiring a reliable, hardworking Tent Installer – Driver to join our Tent Operations team.

This is a hands-on position responsible for safely transporting, installing, and removing tents and related event equipment at venues throughout Virginia. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, safety-focused, and comfortable working outdoors as part of a team.

Position Details

• Department: Tent Operations
• Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly
• Schedule: Variable schedule based on event needs
• Reports To: Tent Equipment Logistics Manager
• Location: Richmond, Virginia
• Pay: $22 per hour

Early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required during peak event seasons.

Primary Responsibilities

• Safely drive company trucks to and from event locations.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload tents, poles, stakes, flooring, sidewalls, tools, and related equipment.
• Install and remove tents according to company procedures, manufacturer guidelines, site plans, and safety requirements.
• Assist with the installation of tent flooring, sidewalls, lighting, heaters, fans, staging, and other event equipment.
• Secure equipment properly before transporting it.
• Verify that all required equipment is loaded before leaving the warehouse.
• Inspect tents, tools, hardware, vehicles, and equipment for damage or safety concerns.
• Clean, fold, roll, organize, and properly store tent equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck, work area, and job site.
• Protect client property, landscaping, buildings, and event venues while performing installations and removals.
• Communicate professionally with clients, venue representatives, coworkers, and managers.
• Report missing equipment, property damage, injuries, vehicle incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Assist with warehouse or other operational duties when tent work is not scheduled.
• Perform additional responsibilities based on operational and event needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must have an acceptable driving record and meet company insurance requirements.
• Commercial driving, delivery, construction, landscaping, roofing, warehouse, or tent installation experience is preferred.
• Must be able to read work orders, equipment lists, installation diagrams, and safety instructions.
• Must be able to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and available for a variable event-based schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the company facility.
• Must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Experience driving box trucks or pulling trailers is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Assist with team lifting of heavier or oversized equipment.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive physical work for extended periods.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, stakes, and sledgehammers.
• Work on grass, gravel, pavement, mud, hills, stairs, and uneven terrain.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, wind, and other changing conditions.
• Perform physically demanding work during long installation and removal shifts.
