    Position:

    The Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB) and the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) at Purdue University - College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a full-time (12-month) Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist.

    • Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with academic record and experience.
    • Tenure or clinical track Assistant/Associate professor position

    Qualifications

    • DVM or equivalent degree
    • Board certification or eligibility by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP or ECVP)
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, laboratory staff, and other stakeholders aligned with the mission of the diagnostic laboratory and department.
    • For tenure track, PhD in a related field is required

    Responsibilities

    • Diagnostic Service - Perform diagnostic pathology duties including necropsies and biopsies with histopathologic examinations of these cases, writing reports, and consultation and advice to clinical veterinarians, producers and owners.
    • Teaching - Contribute to the teaching mission of the college. Opportunities exist to teach in the DVM program, Veterinary Technology program, and the anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, microbiology, poultry, and laboratory animal medicine residency programs.
    • Research - Maintain a program of scholarly activities, which may include independent research or participation in collaborative research, providing continuing education/outreach to ADDL constituencies, presentations at local, regional and/or national meetings, and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Academic service is expected to include but is not limited to, departmental, college, and university committees; professional organizations; and editorial or grant review panels.

    The mission of the Department of Comparative Pathobiology is to understand the causes and pathogenesis of diseases of animals, and to apply this knowledge to improve the health of people and animals. CPB faculty support the teaching mission of the college by participating in the DVM and Veterinary Technology programs, graduate student training, and residencies in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Poultry, and Laboratory Animal Medicine.
