The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications from broadly trained cell and molecular biologist for a tenure-track position to begin Fall 2027. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor is likely, but qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank. Teaching responsibilities will include an advanced course in molecular biology, a basic cell biology course, and introductory and capstone courses in our innovative research-focused curriculum.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic qualifications are required at the time of application.

• PhD in cell biology, molecular biology or related field; postdoctoral experience desired.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring and commitment to developing an active research program engaging undergraduate students.

Salary Range:

The budgeted salary range for this position is:

• Assistant: $62,000-$67,000
• Associate: $72,000-$78,000
• Professor: $83,000-$88,000

The budgeted salary range for this position is $62,000 - $88,000. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
