Courses include, but are not limited to, thermodynamics, statics, dynamics, fluid power, instrumentation and control, strength of materials, machine design, robotics, PLC, Automation, Lean manufacturing and Electromechanical courses. Assists with course development tutor students as needed. Performs student learning outcome assessment to make continuous improvements in learning outcomes.Prepares and delivers lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific disciplineEvaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments and papersPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsKeeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferencesMaintains student attendance records, grades and other required recordsInitiates, facilitates and moderates classroom discussionsAs needed, advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issuesPlans, evaluates and revises curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instructionCompiles, administers and grades examinationsCollaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issuesMaintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist studentsSelects and obtains materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipmentServes on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, department matters and academic issuesParticipates in campus and community eventsRequired QualificationsMaster's Degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, system or Industrial engineering. A bachelor's Degree with a Minimum of five years of Industrial experience may be acceptable.Teaching experienceDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent)Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for studentsAdvanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsLogic and reasoning skills to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsSensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse populationPreferred QualificationsPh.D. in Mechanical Engineering or any of related fieldProfessional Engineering License in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldCommunity college teaching experienceThis is a full-time tenure track faculty opportunity. This salary reflects a nine (9) month contract period.
