Tenured Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

The Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Professor. Responsibilities include:

• Providing scientific and administrative leadership for the Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, including faculty development, strategic planning, and operational oversight
• Directing data coordinating center activities for multi-site studies and clinical trials
• Serving on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards and providing methodological oversight for clinical research
• Setting and executing a vision for graduate and postdoctoral education in biostatistics and bioinformatics, including curriculum development and trainee mentorship
• Fostering collaborative partnerships across Feinbergs research enterprise, including large cohort studies and data science initiatives
• Securing and managing extramural funding, including leadership roles on program-project or center-type grants
• Building a well-trained biostatistics and bioinformatics workforce equipped to serve the nation and advance health for all

Qualified candidates will hold a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field and be recognized as a world leader in the field, with a distinguished record of methodological and collaborative scholarship. Candidates will have substantial experience leading data coordinating centers for multi-site studies and clinical trials, along with a track record of service on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards. They will bring a clear, executable vision for biostatistics and bioinformatics education and demonstrated experience leading an academic division, center, or comparable unit. Candidates will have an outstanding publication record and experience securing and managing NIH or comparable extramural funding, including leadership roles on program-project or center-type grants. The position carries a tenured academic appointment commensurate with experience.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $175,00 - $195,000.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
