Chief Purpose of this position:
VCUSchool of Nursing invites applications for an open rank, 12-month term facultyposition. The faculty member hired into this position will teach in undergraduateand/or graduate areas; contribute to curriculum development, implementation,and evaluation; coordinate clinical sections and clinical education sites;clinically supervise students in undergraduate clinical; participate in school governanceactivities, and implement all roles of term faculty (teaching, scholarship, andservice).
Facultywith expertise in informatics, nursing leadership/organizational science, andpsych-mental health are particularly encouraged to apply!
Faculty appointmentto academic rank and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, certifications, and teaching experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstratescommitment to contributing to the School of Nursing’s Mission and Vision and toVCU’s Quest 2028 (https://quest.vcu.edu/)
- Demonstrates an integrated academic life,contributing to the teaching, scholarship and service missions in an urbanresearch-intensive university with an academic health sciences center
- Participates in all aspects of curriculumincluding curriculum development, teaching (in classroom or clinical settings),and evaluation.
- Maintains a commitment to serving the schoolof nursing, university, profession and community
- Maintains ongoing scholarly contributions totheir field such as translation of evidence to practice, presentations ormanuscript publications
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse inVirginia
- Graduate degree in nursing
- Clinical experience
- Documented effectiveness in collaboration andcommunication.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster anenvironment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to doso as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or DNP)in nursing or related field
- Experience in higher education, includingteaching and simulation instruction
- Record of accomplishments in scholarship and professionalservice
- Expertise in informatics, nursing leadership/organizational science, psych-mental health
