This position is also responsible for coordinating the load and discharge with stevedore TOTE Services and other internal teams. The Terminal Operations Manager is responsible for terminal security including role as Facility Security Officer and coordinating with Coast Guard and other key partners including the Port of Tacoma and PSE.Essential Job Responsibilities AND ResultsDirectly supervise multiple employees in accordance with company policies and applicable laws including hiring training performance management work assignment and issue resolution.Coordinates vessel load and discharge operations in collaboration with the vessel crew and stevedores.Directly manages all facility maintenance activities ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Manages TOTE vendor relationships including approving quotes and monitoring labor costs.Apply for and execute a capital budget of approximately 1-3 million annually.Reports on and manages annual budget of approximately 50 million.Interface with customers and sales team on oversize freight and hazardous requirements.Coordinates transloads on and off the terminal.Liaison with customers to ensure adherence to TOTE cargo securement requirements.Serve as Facility Security Officer FSO ensuring Tacoma terminal compliance with all regulatory requirements in coordination with the Coast GuardEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and TOTE Maritime Alaska safety programs provide regular reporting on status and performance.Identify develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency safety and cost performance.Annually reviews and maintains a comprehensive understanding of the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure SPCC Plan the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan SWPPP and the terminals responsibilities under RCRA related to hazardous waste.Leads the Pollution Prevention Team in identifying addressing and resolving issues related to the SPCC SWPPP and hazardous waste management programs.Supervise staff responsible for SPCC SWPPP and hazardous waste compliance provide coverage as needed and escalate issues to the Director of Safety and Compliance.Qualifications Education Experience and CertificationsBachelors degree required in business transportation logistics or related field preferred.Six to eight years related experience including operationsstevedoringvessel cargo operations or terminal operations.Six years supervisory experience in business transportation logistics or related field.KNOWLEDGE Skills And AbilitiesStrong knowledge of marine terminal operations including cargo handling vessel operations and logistics coordination.Working knowledge of trailer repair and equipment maintenance practices.Demonstrated understanding of operational processes and the ability to quickly learn company-specific systems and procedures.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams customers and external partners.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing demands.Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced operational environment.Basic proficiency in math budgeting and cost management principles.Effective negotiation and vendor management skills.Strong customer service orientation and relationship management capabilities.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with a collaborative mindset.Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective sustainable solutions.Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint Teams and other business systems including database and web-based applications.Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.WORK ENVIRONMENTTypically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.PHYSICAL EFFORTMost work requires normal physical effort. The role requires physical ability including stooping bending kneeling climbing to navigate around the loaded vessel and the terminal yard.MANUAL DEXTERITYRequires moderate use of personal computer word processing and spreadsheets for compiling reports statistical data composing memoranda and other similar documents.The salary range is 88988 &8211 155530 with an expected target salary of 105000-120000.
