Description
The Batching Operator is responsible for accurately measuring, weighing, and combining raw materials according to established formulas and manufacturing specifications. This position plays an important role in maintaining product quality and consistency and requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety and production procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
Weigh and measure raw materials according to batch formulas, work orders, and production specifications.
Accurately identify and verify materials before beginning each batch.
Load, mix, and process materials using designated equipment and machinery.
Follow established batching procedures, recipes, and work instructions.
Monitor the batching and mixing process to ensure materials are properly combined.
Record material quantities, lot numbers, batch information, and production results accurately.
Perform quality checks and notify supervisors of any discrepancies or abnormalities.
Operate scales, mixers, blending equipment, and other production machinery as trained.
Maintain proper material identification and traceability throughout the process.
Clean and maintain equipment and work areas according to established procedures.
Follow all safety, PPE, chemical-handling, and environmental procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized production area.
Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous manufacturing, batching, mixing, material handling, or machine operation experience preferred.
Experience weighing or measuring materials is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure weights and quantities.
Ability to read work orders, formulas, labels, and production documentation.
Comfortable working with repetitive processes and production equipment.
Ability to lift and move materials as required by the position.
