Description

Are you passionate about the building industry and ready to take ownership of one of Laminex New Zealand's most important territories? We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Territory Manager to join our South Island team, based out of Dunedin, you will take ownership of an established territory stretching from Dunedin to outlying areas. This is an opportunity to represent market-leading brands, grow key customer relationships, and drive success across customer channels.

About the Role

As Territory Manager, you'll be responsible for a diverse portfolio of customers including joiners, kitchen manufacturers, merchants. Working closely with the operational team at our offices in Dunedin, you'll spend your time building strong relationships, identifying growth opportunities, supporting customers with new product launches, and expanding our presence across the region. Success in this role is not about simply turning up for meetings. It's about understanding your customers' businesses, identifying opportunities before they do, and becoming a trusted partner who helps them achieve their goals.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage and grow an established customer portfolio while identifying and converting new business opportunities across the territory.
• Build strong relationships with business owners, key decision-makers and project stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of their businesses and future needs.
• Drive sales growth across residential and commercial markets through both established product ranges and new product launches.
• Work closely with architects, designers, merchants, joiners and kitchen manufacturers, providing expert product and technical advice to add value, solve customer challenges and strengthen long-term partnerships.
• Develop and execute territory and account plans that maximise market share, revenue growth and customer engagement.
• Proactively identify customer needs and future opportunities, positioning Laminex as the preferred partner for decorative surfaces and building solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll be a proactive and commercially minded sales professional who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities and delivering results in a competitive market.

You will ideally have:

• B2B sales, account management, business development, or related commercial experience preferred.
• A solid track record of growing existing accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach, with the drive to be highly active in the market and consistently identify opportunities for growth.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand customer challenges, uncover future needs and deliver value-added solutions.
• Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform, with a disciplined approach to sales planning, pipeline management and customer engagement.
• The ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively across a large geographical territory while remaining a collaborative and engaged member of a wider regional sales team.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and maintain a structured approach to account and territory management.
• Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills with a reputation for honesty, integrity, accountability and professionalism in everything you do.
