Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Territory Sales Engineer (TSE) - Idaho region. The work will be done remotely with up to 35% travel in the region. Compensation is up to $140K/yr base salary and includes bonsus and stock contribution.

Overview
We are seeking a Territory Sales Engineer to drive growth across a high-potential utility-focused territory in Idaho, with partial coverage in Oregon and Washington. This is a remote, field-based role requiring candidates to live within (or relocate to) the territory in order to effectively support customers and travel as needed.

This role is responsible for managing key accounts, expanding market share, and developing strong customer and channel partner relationships within the electric power and industrial markets. It also offers a clear path to promotion into a Territory Manager position within 18–24 months.

Location & Travel Requirements
  • Remote, territory-based position (no office requirement)
  • Must reside in Idaho or be willing to relocate (Boise strongly preferred)
  • Territory includes Idaho with partial coverage in Oregon and Washington
  • Approximately 35% travel, with potential to reach 50% depending on sales cycle
  • Travel is primarily within the territory to support customer meetings, site visits, and distributor relationships

Compensation
  • Base salary: $110,000 – $140,000
  • Annual bonus: 5–10%
  • No commission in current role
  • Promotion path to Territory Manager with increased earnings potential (commission + higher bonus)

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share
  • Build and maintain relationships with investor-owned utilities, public utilities, and distributor partners
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while re-engaging underpenetrated accounts
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including forecasting, pipeline development, and account planning
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling to customers
  • Collaborate with distributors as a key extension of the sales organization to maximize territory coverage
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (applications, marketing, and support) to deliver tailored solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activity, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools
  • Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and customer engagements

Customer & Market Focus
  • Primary customers: Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs)
  • Additional customers: Public utilities, distributors, and industrial accounts
  • Territory includes approximately 23 accounts, with the majority of revenue driven by a small number of key customers
  • Significant opportunity to expand existing relationships and unlock new growth

Required Qualifications
Sales Experience (Critical)
  • Proven ability to manage sales cycles, build relationships, and drive results
  • Strong persistence and resilience in a long-cycle, relationship-driven sales environment

Technical Selling Ability
  • Comfortable selling complex or technical products
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions and translate customer needs into solutions

Core Competencies
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a geographically dispersed territory
  • Resilient and adaptable when managing challenging customer dynamics

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in Electrical Engineering (preferred), or Mechanical/Structural Engineering
  • Experience working with utilities, electrical products, or power systems
  • Exposure to construction, industrial, or infrastructure-related markets
  • Experience working with distributors or indirect/channel sales models (strongly preferred)
