    Job Description

Test Automation Architect - Automotive Software & Systems Validation

    Role Summary

At Bose Automotive, we create premium in-vehicle audio and sound management experiences for the worlds leading OEMs. The Test Automation Architect is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining, governing, and evolving a global automated test strategy to validate complex automotive software and systems. This role provides technical direction across embedded software, system integration, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, ensuring high-quality, safe, and compliant product delivery across global programs.

Key Responsibilities - Test Strategy & Architecture

    • Define and own the global end-to-end automotive test automation strategy across unit, integration, SIL, HIL, and system-level testing • Architect scalable, reusable, and AI-assisted automation frameworks aligned with platform roadmaps and multi-customer programs • Drive standardization of test tools, infrastructure, governance models, and automation best practices across global teams • Ensure optimal balance between test coverage, execution time, cost, and long-term maintainability • Review and align regional test strategies with global architectural direction

    HIL Architecture & Specification

    • Define HIL architectures, requirements, and interfaces in collaboration with systems, hardware, and platform teams • Specify HIL capabilities for integration validation, regression testing, fault injection, robustness, and performance testing • Guide selection and integration of HIL hardware, I/O, simulation models, and automotive networks such as CAN, A2B and Ethernet • Ensure HIL solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with OEM, ASPICE, and internal quality requirements

    Technical Test Design & Traceability

    • Lead design of technically rigorous automated test cases derived from system, software, and safety requirements • Responsible for automated test delivery across all OEM programs to meet customer milestones • Establish and enforce requirements-to-test traceability supporting ASPICE and customer audit expectations • Define best practices for deterministic, observable, and diagnosable automated tests • Review complex or high-risk test designs and mentor teams on advanced validation techniques

    Automation, CI/CD & Metrics

    • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid feedback and continuous quality • Define execution strategies across developer workstations, shared labs, and centralized HIL farms • Develop and track metrics for test effectiveness, coverage, stability, and defect escape

    Technical Leadership & Collaboration

    • Serve as the global technical authority for test automation architecture across automotive programs • Partner with software, systems, hardware, DevOps, and quality teams to influence design-for-testability • Mentor engineers and elevate organizational test automation maturity • Provide technical estimates for test-related activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience • Significant experience architecting test automation solutions for embedded or complex systems • Hands-on expertise with automotive HIL systems and system-level validation • Strong programming skills in Python (essential) • Experience working with global, cross-functional automotive engineering teams

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Automotive OEM or Tier-1 development experience • Working knowledge of ASPICE or similar automotive quality standards • Automotive digital cockpit testing experience including Navigation, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto • Experience with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and vTestStudio • Strong programming experience in C/C++; familiarity with CAPL is preferred. • Familiarity with Android, Linux, and QNX-based infotainment systems • Experience with audio analyzers and audio processing fundamentals

    Additional Expectations

    • Design and implement enterprise-wide AI-powered test automation frameworks • Expertise in testing AI-driven systems and intelligent features • Implement intelligent test data management and synthetic data generation • Strong debugging skills with expertise in log analysis and embedded system troubleshooting • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders globally • This is a global role requiring regular collaboration across regions • Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support evolving technical, program, and organizational needs.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere where every candidate feels supported and empowered in the interviewing process. Diversity and inclusion are integral to our success, and we believe that providing reasonable accommodation is not only a legal obligation but also a fundamental aspect of our commitment to being an employer of choice.
