Acentra Health is looking for a Test Automation Engineer, Senior to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Senior Test Automation Engineer serves as a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automation frameworks and strategies across complex systems and integrations. This position leads automation efforts for multiple projects, provides guidance to peers, and ensures that automation initiatives align with organizational quality objectives. The Senior Engineer will drive innovation and continuous improvement in test automation to ensure efficient and scalable testing practices that support Acentra Health’s healthcare technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level test automation frameworks and scripts
- Define automation strategies, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency across QA teams
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and business teams to integrate automation into continuous delivery pipelines
- Conduct code reviews of automation scripts and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level automation engineers
- Develop reusable components, utilities, and libraries to improve efficiency and maintainability of test automation assets
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex automation failures, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Provide technical input into test planning, estimation, and overall QA strategy
- Evaluate and recommend automation tools and technologies that align with enterprise architecture
- Track and report automation progress and performance metrics to QA leadership
- Ensure alignment of automation testing activities with compliance and security requirements relevant to healthcare data systems
- Collaborate with peers to enhance automation coverage for API, UI, batch, and backend testing layers
- Champion test automation adoption and continuous improvement initiatives across QA and development teams
- Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or 6 years of additional experience in lieu of degree)
- 7+ years of experience in software testing
- 5 years in automation-focused roles
- Proven expertise in designing and maintaining automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Tosca, Playwright, or UFT)
- Strong programming proficiency in Java and Python
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices, with hands-on experience integrating automated tests into pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Deep understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
- Proficient in database validation and complex SQL scripting
- Experience leading automation initiatives for large, multi-tiered enterprise or healthcare systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare transaction processing systems preferred
- Familiarity with performance, API, and service virtualization tools
- Knowledge of AI concepts and their application in software testing, including effective use of GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted tools within Visual Studio
- Strong knowledge of data-driven testing and test data management strategies
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and influence best practices in test automation
