Test & Burn-in Department Supervisor

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 per year

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Full-Time)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Test & Burn-in Department Supervisor to oversee all testing operations for our high-performance electronics and lighting products. In this role, you will manage the electronics testing department and the specialized "Burn-in Room" to ensure all assemblies, sub-systems, and finished products meet stringent quality and performance standards before reaching our customers.

As a leader, you will guide a team of technicians, manage daily workflows, maintain calibration compliance, and drive continuous improvement to keep our testing processes efficient and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management
  • Supervise, mentor, and train test technicians while providing regular performance feedback.
  • Schedule and prioritize daily testing activities to align with production schedules and engineering deadlines.
  • Foster a workplace culture centered on safety, quality, and accountability.
Testing Operations
  • Execute and oversee test procedures for electronic assemblies, lightbars, sirens, and traffic control systems.
  • Manage Burn-in Room operations for extended reliability and stress testing.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including work instructions and Failure Analysis Reports (FARs).
  • Troubleshoot test failures and collaborate with engineering for root cause analysis.
  • Support the development and maintenance of test fixtures and burn-in racks.
  • Lead Return Material Authorization (RMA) product analysis and resolution in coordination with Customer Service and Engineering.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards and internal policies.
  • Oversee the calibration of test equipment to ensure industry compliance and audit readiness.
  • Maintain meticulous records of calibration certificates, logs, and test results for full traceability.
Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve throughput.
  • Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Requests (ECRs) impacting test processes.
  • Prepare management reports regarding testing progress, quality trends, and resource requirements.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: 3-5 years in electronics testing or manufacturing; at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Technical & Soft Skills
  • Technical: Strong understanding of electronic circuits, LED systems, and test methodologies.
  • Equipment: Proficiency with DMMs, signal generators, AC/DC power supplies, and Oscilloscopes.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to develop and train others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organization: Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with emergency vehicle lighting or signaling products.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
