ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Test Engineer for a pioneering advanced nuclear reactor program, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in mechanical testing, instrumentation, and R&D test campaign management looking to further their career in high-impact energy technology.
Own the full test lifecycle - from reviewing and drafting test requirements to authoring design documents, procedures, and final reports.
Define and validate measurement instrumentation including load cells, LVDTs, encoders, RTDs, and strain sensors to ensure accurate data capture.
Coordinate cross-functional test efforts involving fixture design, control system integration, and lab space planning with technicians, designers, and facility teams.
Manage test campaigns end-to-end, including setup, system validation, execution, and post-test analysis.
Translate conceptual customer requirements into actionable test specifications, instrumentation strategies, and clear success criteria.
Support safe execution of lab activities, including work at elevated heights, and apply nuclear industry best practices throughout.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
3+ years of hands-on experience in a testing or R&D environment.
Experience authoring test design documents, procedures, and reports.
Practical knowledge of mechanical testing concepts including force/displacement, dynamic loading, vibration, and structural deflection.
Experience selecting and validating instrumentation (strain gauges, load cells, LVDTs, RTDs, or similar sensors).
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with multiple test types: R&D, acceptance, validation, and/or qualification testing.
Familiarity with LabVIEW, SolidWorks, Jira/Confluence, or Microsoft 365 suite.
Awareness of dimensional inspection tools and motion capture technologies (e.g., Faro trackers, CMMs).
Alkali metal testing and handling experience.
Background working on large, complex mechanical systems in a regulated or quality-driven environment.
