Test Engineer - Electronic Manufacturing - Lowell, MA

My client is seeking a Test Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain test processes for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with functional testing, ICT (In-Circuit Testing), boundary scan, and debugging PCB assemblies to ensure product quality and performance.

Description

The Test Engineer will report directly into the Director of Engineering and be responsible for:

• • Develop, maintain, and improve In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Test (FCT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with customers and test development partners to design, build, and deploy effective test solutions.
  • Provide Design for Testability (DFT) feedback during new product introductions and product development activities.
  • Manage all aspects of test development projects, including requirements, timelines, deliverables, technical support, validation, and deployment.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve yields, increase test reliability, and reduce production issues through data-driven analysis.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts, including fixture implementation, program development, testing, and process validation.
  • Troubleshoot complex PCBAs and electronic systems down to the component level.
  • Develop automation solutions that improve data collection, eliminate manual inputs, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Train technicians and operators on test procedures, equipment operation, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Support quality systems and internal controls within an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment.

Profile

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in PCB testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ICT, FCT, ESS, and test fixture development or debugging.
  
• Strong understanding of analog, digital, and RF circuit operation.
  
• Ability to perform circuit analysis using oscilloscopes, meters, and electronic test equipment.
  
• Knowledge of Design for Testability (DFT) principles and test plan development.
  
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
