The Test Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving production test equipment, covering both hardware set‑up and software development to meet specific customer requirements. The role works closely with manufacturing, quality and customers to improve test coverage, reliability and efficiency in a high‑mix production environment.

Description

In this role you will report to the Test Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Designing circuit board layouts for new and existing test stations using Altium Designer
  • Contributing to design for manufacturability, assembly and test for customer products
  • Supporting production through failure analysis, test debugging and reduction of false failures and downtime
  • Leading test improvements by reducing cycle time, increasing test coverage and enhancing automation
  • Participating in capital equipment reviews to improve test capability and production capacity
  • Supporting quality reviews by improving test coverage, capability and automation to reduce escapes
  • Developing and maintaining test procedures and documentation from design through production
  • Generating monthly and quarterly test data reports with analysis and customer recommendations
  • Reviewing test equipment design, capacity, data and RMA issues with customers
  • Directing engineering activities related to test equipment development, installation and calibration
  • Analyzing test data and preparing technical reports for engineering and management teams
  • Maintaining customer‑supplied test equipment and inventory
  • Providing training to test operators, technicians and engineering staff on new procedures

Profile

The successful candidate will have

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience as a Test Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in automated test equipment, test fixtures and calibration
  • Proficiency with test‑related programming languages such as Visual Basic, C/C++, .NET or LabVIEW
  • Experience working with ERP systems, technical drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards in a test environment
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills using Lean or Six Sigma methods
  • Eligibility to work with ITAR‑controlled technical data
