Department 428 Electrical Systems is looking for a highly motivated test engineer to fill an engineering laboratory position in the Monitoring & Control System Group.
The Monitoring & Control Systems Group is a COLUMBIA Program dedicated team responsible for the development of the Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Monitoring and Control (HMC) system. The HMC system is a networked based system that provides signal conditioning and electrical flow paths for control, indication, monitoring, and alarms based on sensor (e.g. temperature, pressure, salinity) data. HMC features comprehensive use of network switches, servers, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and display panels located throughout the ship for monitoring and control. The HMC system team develops and maintains the system software and hardware, utilizing the HMC Development and Test System (HDTS) lab.
Primary Technical tasks may include:
Perform HMC hardware component-level testing, configuration, integration and troubleshooting
Install, configure and maintain hardware within the HMC HDTS.
Maintain hardware configuration management, including baselining, version control and change tracking
Support lab logistics, including component documentation, material ordering and asset tracking
Provide HMC System maintenance and troubleshooting support in-lab and on-hull
