Job Summary: The Test Equipment Engineer is a key member of a cross-disciplinary team driving the design, development and testing, and integration of aircraft high-lift actuation and flight control components and systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and procedures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams\u2014including design, systems, and manufacturing engineering\u2014you will analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of test methods and product quality. Essential Job Functions: \u2022 Create and implement Acceptance Test Procedures for products based on product requirements and customer specifications \u2022 Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with aerospace standards defined in RTCA DO-160 and DO-178C. \u2022 Drive innovation and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver high-performance systems and components that meet safety, regulatory, and customer-critical requirements. \u2022 Assist in estimating resources required to complete projects including labor, materials, necessary skills and duration. Provide testability input to new product designs and guidance in the completion of qualification programs to ensure that goals and objectives are met. \u2022 Develop test plans, write acceptance and qualification test procedures, conduct tests and generate test reports. \u2022 Design and document both manual and automated test equipment to support engineering development and production (manufacturing) for new and existing programs. \u2022 Provide guidance on system electrical design and software development to multidisciplinary teams. \u2022 Oversee testing, simulation, and validation processes to ensure systems meet safety, performance, and reliability standards. \u2022 Ensures work complies with company policies and processes. \u2022 Other duties may be as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required Competencies: Education/Experience: \u2022 Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering. \u2022 Minimum of 10 years' experience in aerospace and test engineering. \u2022 This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: \u2022 Experience with DOORS management tool \u2022 Manual and automated test equipment development/programming experience with National Instruments LabVIEW is required. \u2022 Experience with National Instruments Test Stand \u2022 Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD) is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \u2022 Must be a self-directed individual requiring minimal supervision. \u2022 Must be experienced in developing test procedures and performing qualification testing to commercial and military specifications such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810 etc. to support new products in development. \u2022 Experienced with environmental testing (altitude, moisture, temperature, shock, vibration, EMI etc.) and highly accelerated life testing (HALT). Must be able to work independently with common hand tools and bench top instruments. \u2022 Experienced in electrical and mechanical test setups and test equipment \u2022 Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems. Use of software to control data acquisition system. Must have the ability to communicate technical information, whether written or verbal to other functional departments throughout the organization. Includes creation and participation of group presentations. \u2022 Experience with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. \u2022 Strong project management and organization skills. \u2022 Timeliness of estimates and reports for engineering projects. \u2022 Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation. \u2022 Leadership skills with strong customer presence. \u2022 Physically build prototype hardware for test and evaluation. \u2022 Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment while performing multiple tasks. \u2022 Participation in lean and safety activities for the site.
