Job Description

As a Test Pilot at Honeywell Aerospace, you hold a critical role in the aerospace industry, responsible for the development, certification, and demonstration of industry leading aerospace technology. You will be part of a professional, high performing team of test pilots, flight test engineers, flight test mechanics, and support staff whose goal is to supply accurate, repeatable, and cost-effective data to the engineering groups we support. We have a unique and diverse fleet of airplanes and rotorcraft, including a B757, E170, G550, F900, PC-12, AW139 and others to support that goal. You will be required to maintain proficiency in multiple aircraft types.

You will report directly to our Chief Test Pilot and work on-site at our Phoenix, AZ location. With travel required as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct flight tests to evaluate the performance and capabilities of aircraft systems and components
  • Develop and execute test plans, techniques and procedures
  • Conduct all elements of trip planning and dispatching transport category aircraft
  • Analyze test data and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards
  • Test reporting and technical document development
  • Collaborate on marketing and demonstration activities for customers
  • Conduct familiarization, demonstration, proficiency and evaluation flights

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Minimum of 2000 hours in turbine powered aircraft
  • Type rating (or military equivalent) in large turbine aircraft
  • Hold an FAA ATP Airplane Multi-Engine Land or can attain it with the next type rating
  • Ability to hold a First-Class Medical
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

WE VALUE:

  • Extensive engineering and developmental flight test experience
  • Graduate of full course test pilot school (SETP-recognized) or possess equivalent experience in developmental flight test programs
  • Experience with the operation and regulations surrounding experimentally certified aircraft
  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering or related field
  • DER certification
  • Dual rated pilot with Rotorcraft-Helicopter ATP or Commercial Certificate
  • Unmanned Aerial Systems/Urban Air Mobility flight test experience
  • Passion for aviation and commitment to safety
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment

The first autopilot in 1914, Charles Lindbergh’s first successful solo flight across the Atlantic in 1927, Amelia Earhart’s landmark flight in 1932, and the world’s first sonic boom in 1947, were all made possible because of aviation technology developed by Honeywell and its legacy companies.
