Instruments TechnicianOnly qualified Instruments Technician candidates located near the "Sparks, MD" area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence. Required education: Associate Degree (AA) in Mechatronics or relevant field OR 3 years of experience in electrical mechanical or software troubleshooting. Required experience: Production assembly experience, instrument assembly and integration, functional and release testing experience, electrical mechanical and software troubleshooting, system analysis and performance optimization, pass fail analysis and defect identification, experience reading drawings and work instructions, experience training and mentoring associates, experience collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering Quality Planning and Purchasing teams, experience working in Good Manufacturing Practices environments, Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Kaizen and Blitzes experience, medical device manufacturing experience preferred. Tech skills: Mechanical tools, torque drivers, gauges and bits, instrument assembly and integration, instrument functional testing, Windows operating environment, personal computers, reading technical drawings, material handling, basic arithmetic. Soft skills: Mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, strong math and analytical skills, leadership and mentoring abilities, accountability and ownership, time management, independent decision making, ability to work effectively in a team environment, adaptability to changing priorities, commitment to continuous improvement, ability to follow quality procedures. Responsibilities: Build and integrate instruments, perform production assembly activities, complete functional and release testing, analyze test results and pass fail data, troubleshoot electrical mechanical and software issues, optimize instrument performance precision movement and light systems, identify defects and recommend process improvements, read and interpret drawings work instructions and workmanship standards, train and support associates, collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Quality Planning and Purchasing teams, complete work in compliance with quality regulatory and company requirements, perform material handling for raw materials and subassemblies, follow Good Manufacturing Practices housekeeping and safety procedures, support Lean Manufacturing Kaizen Blitzes and Continuous Improvement initiatives, escalate instrument testing issues when necessary, perform overtime and additional duties as assigned.
