We are seeking a hands-on Test Technician to support the testing, characterization, and validation of high-performance liquid-cooled cold plates used in advanced electronics and thermal management systems.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with hardware, building test setups, taking precise measurements, and turning data into clean, reliable insights for engineering teams.
Pay Range: $28.00–$38.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Full-time, hourly, onsite role
Monday–Friday schedule, 10:00am–6:00pm
Set up and operate cold plate test rigs for temperature, pressure drop, and flow characterization
Assemble and plumb liquid cooling loops (pumps, reservoirs, tubing, fittings, CDUs, heat exchangers)
Install and verify sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, flow meters)
Apply and control heat loads using cartridge heaters, resistive heaters, or heater plates
Apply thermal interface materials consistently and repeatably
Execute steady-state and transient thermal tests following written procedures
Acquire data using DAQ systems (NI hardware, LabVIEW, Python, or similar tools)
Verify sensor calibration and measurement accuracy
Process and clean raw data; calculate metrics such as:
Thermal resistance
Pressure drop vs. flow rate
Heat transfer coefficients
Maintain organized test logs, data plots, and summary reports
Work closely with mechanical, thermal, and simulation engineers
Provide feedback based on test results to guide design improvements
Support internal reviews and customer-facing validation activities
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, or similar field OR equivalent hands-on industry/lab experience
2+ years in thermal, mechanical, or fluid testing (lab, R&D, or industrial environment)
Experience with liquid cooling systems (water, glycol, etc.)
Familiarity with temperature and pressure measurement hardware
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with lab hardware
Ability to follow detailed test procedures and produce repeatable results
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience testing cold plates, heat sinks, or liquid-cooled electronics
Familiarity with:
NI DAQ hardware, LabVIEW, or Python-based DAQ systems
Data analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, Python)
Basic understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics
Ability to read drawings and basic schematics
Extremely detail-oriented and organized
Comfortable working independently in a lab environment
Clear written and verbal communication
Strong troubleshooting instincts and curiosity
