SUNY Niagara is seeking candidates who are passionate about making education accessible to all individuals and making a difference in these students' lives. We are searching for a part time Testing Proctor & Success Coach. This position reports to the Student Success Services Director.

This position will assist the Testing Coordinator with the daily operation of Accessibility Services in support of students in the scheduling and provision of accommodated testing, and data sorting and management of disability information in Banner. This position also assists with case management for a cohort of students, including registration, outreach, connection with academic support, and transition support with the primary office residing at the Sanborn campus. Documentation of services and student progress is an essential requirement of this position.

The rate of pay is based on the level of education the candidate possesses. For a Bachelor's degree or lower the rate of pay will be $22.52 per hour. For a Master's degree or higher the rate of pay will be $24.76 per hour.

Typical Work Activities

  • Proctor accommodated tests for qualified students with disabilities facilitating individual accommodations as granted by the Program Administrator and the faculty member's assessment rules
  • Facilitate and organize Testing Center Reservation forms and process and other Accessibility Services digital forms
  • Assist with set up of various software and hardware as it relates to testing accommodations
  • Coordinate with students and faculty in the scheduling and delivery of accommodated tests
  • Conduct outreach to students identified through the College's early alert system(s) to assist in removing identified barriers to success and connecting them with appropriate resources within the College.
  • Monitor and document student progress through frequent individual meetings, mid-term report reviews, and advance registration.
  • Provide advisement and registration support for advisement/registration sessions, including but not limited to new, readmit, transfer, current, add/drop and late registration sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Student Success Services Director

Essential Functions

Ability to operate computers and other computerized office equipment; ability to convey technical knowledge to non-technical personnel; ability to relate with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff; ability to coordinate numerous priorities with critical deadlines; ability to learn, train, and utilize a variety of accessible software and hardware devices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or field
  • Experience providing customer service
  • Experience working with diverse population of students

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Student Personnel or other related field;
  • Experience working in higher education;
  • Experience working with students with disabilities and adaptive technology.
