We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Textile Chemical / Printing Formulation Specialist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in textile preparation, dye formulation, printing processes, and finishing technologies for both natural and synthetic fabrics. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across production, quality, and supplier teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, standardize, and optimize textile printing formulations using VAT and disperse dyes
  • Create and refine color formulations for natural and synthetic fiber applications
  • Calculate and input formulations into dye dispensing systems
  • Utilize spectrophotometer technology to measure Infrared Radiation, Near IR, and Short Wave IR requirements; analyze data and recommend adjustments
  • Develop and improve finishing formulations including DWR, wrinkle-resistant, insect-repellent, and specialty finishes
  • Support production teams with preparation of ager and finishing mixes
  • Collaborate with suppliers on product development initiatives and technical support
  • Review incoming raw materials and verify compliance with Certificates of Analysis (COA)
  • Troubleshoot production variations and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in textiles and/or chemical manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of textile preparation processes, dyes, binders, and finishing chemicals
  • Experience with rotary screen printing and finishing equipment
  • Understanding of color matching and shade control
  • Knowledge of woven fabrics utilizing both natural and synthetic fibers
  • Strong mathematical aptitude including ratios, measurements, and conversions
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to communicate and present professionally with customers via email, phone, and in person
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient with computer systems and manufacturing software applications

Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb ladders/platforms as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot manufacturing environments
