Discretionary incentive eligible.Responsibilities Partner with engineering and technology teams to improve reliability and observability for supported services.Plan and implement instrumentation, tooling, ticketing, alerting, and on‑call routines as defined in observability designs.Engage in production triage and Problem Management.Support code enhancements to automate services and improve reliability and observability.Develop software or system scripts to simplify or eliminate recurring tasks requiring human intervention.Identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for reliability improvement, such as investigating low‑level error rates and monitoring noise.Assist solutions engineers and application teams in implementing code changes to use common reliability libraries and tools.Participate in on‑call rotation, work with Production Support to transfer knowledge, update playbooks, and conduct training on new monitoring capabilities.Act as a subject‑matter expert (SME) in incident triage, failure scenario modeling, and root‑cause analysis for incident/problem management.Contribute to a catalog of reliability tools and libraries for common instrumentation, automation, and operational needs.Collaborate with monitoring and application development teams to establish/enhance monitoring and observability solutions and continuous‑improvement plans.Translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks that meet architecture standards and policies.Conduct on‑site evaluations of third‑party products considered for adoption.Ensure technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards.Contribute to functional and non‑functional product evaluation requirements across domains.Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Automation Engineer.Significant experience writing HashiCorp Terraform configurations and modules.Experience with Terraform Enterprise (TFE) for resource provisioning.Hands‑on knowledge of DevOps and GitOps models, including infra‑as‑code, config‑as‑code, and policy‑as‑code.Proficiency in translating designs into fully developed Terraform code.Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security.Experience in enterprise‑scale environments building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions.Knowledge of landing zones, cloud‑native security, monitoring, and logging tools, and Well‑Architected Framework principles.Experience with container technologies and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, pipelines, and container repositories.Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work in a global team.Desired Qualifications Experience in financial services industry.Minimum 7‑year degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.Experience with multiple public cloud service providers.Experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker.Skills Analytical ThinkingApplication DevelopmentAutomationProduction SupportResult OrientationAdaptabilityCollaborationDevOps PracticesSolution DeliveryProcess Technical Strategy DevelopmentTerraformBenefits Eligible for annual discretionary incentive based on overall performance.Industry‑leading benefits package, including paid time off and wellness resources.EEO Statement Bank of America is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
